Lupine leaves glowing in late afternoon light at Point Reyes. The coastal dune habitats in the area have been invaded with European beach grass and iceplant. This has limited the success of federally endangered Tidestrom's Lupine and federally threatened snowy plover. Restoration efforts have been done in the area, but more work needs to be done as iceplant has still taken over many areas. I'm not sure which variety of lupine is shown in the photo. If you have any ideas please let me know in the comments.
